On Good Friday, Christians gather to remember the crucifixion of our Lord. Our remembrance, while solemn, is awe-filled adoration of the Son of God as he offers up his life for us. Worship on Good Friday is not a funeral service for Jesus, but a serious time of reflection. We gather to celebrate his sacrifice on the cross. 

Just as you cannot have the crown without the cross, you cannot have Easter without Good Friday.
